Hiya,
I have upgraded from 5.5 to 2003 and chanegd the Blackberry server software. Ill dig out my installation docs they might be of some use. I know strangely enough you need System manager installed on the blackberry server for the mapi function. Ill see what i can remember when i check the sever over tomorrow.

Cheers

Dom

Have you considered OWA, OMA and RPC over HTTP? No 3rd party additions required for anyone who wants to access remote e-mail. Works a treat here!

As long as the server name isnt changing it shouldnt cause a major headache ! Normally would export the user lists from blackberry manager just in case !

The upgrade process for Blackberry upgrades the database anyway !

Need to have the Exhange managagement software installed on the BES server as well.

Been a while since i did one of these though !

the old bes is still on so a new server has been added to the domain with a different name. Would that cause any problems?
Couldnt find any info on moving db over physical servers so it created a new one. Then imported user list. All listed there now, just the server is unavailable.

ok seems they are linked. stop services on the old one, stops the new one too

ok well you cant actually run 2 servers with the same id's at the same time, i would shut the other one down completely, restart the new one and check the services come back up, make sure any firewall rules are enabled for the new server as well !
