Want to use laptop as desktop display - how?
Hi,
The title says it all...what do I need, in order to use a laptop display as the monitor for a PC?
Anyone done this before?
Thanks.

I take it you mean connect the laptop screen to another pc?
If so they you'll need to get a soldering iron and a vga connector and solder the wires on the screen from the motherboard of the laptop to the vga connector. this will mean you wont be able to use it as a laptop monitor anymore!
I've done it before but the laptop was shagged, the pinouts can be found here and you'll need to find out which wire does what.
Tech Guide > VGA Pinouts
I knew which wires where which though and its not a 5 minute job.

What!
Just use the VGA out port on the back of your laptop, and swith the display settings.
Buy a wireless mouse and keyboard, leave the laptop in your draw or under the table, and switch it on as normal.
