Angry Files deleted from Recycle bin

Is there a way I can get I file I have deleted from the computer and then emptied the Recycle bin

depending on where the file was at...how about trying to backdate the system

Keep an open mind when using recovery programs. All is not lost, even if your software reports that it can't find your file. The OS renames the file when it drops it into the recycle bin, and keeps a small logfile of the previous filename and location. You never see this from the front-end of Windows - but I assure you, this happens.

When you use recovery software, particularly the software that looks at the drive closely, you won't see the original named file, you'll see the renamed file. So - when you use your software, it may be there, just under a different name

Thanks for all your help. I downloaded one of the freebees from PCWorld.

I left it scanning the drive last night. It's not my computer. Hopefully the missing file will be found today.
