Default PDA problems

Tried to charge up my ipaq PDA the other night but for some reason I cant get the thing to start taking a charge ?? the unit has been sitting for a good few months unused, normally when you plug the charger in the charging light comes straight on . tried leaving the battery charger plugged into the unit overnight in the hope that it would eventually start charging, but nope still nothing.

the battery for the pda was changed for a brand new one around six months ago and the charger is by way off a standard wall charger / usb.

any suggestions ??

Sounds like your batt could be knackered!

Try the old one see if that works.
Sounds obvious but it's in the right way i take it?????

Okay thanks mate yep was working okay but as I say did leave it for a few months in this uncharged state. and battery can only go the one way as it is actually part off the back case off the pda itself.

thanks anyway will keep trying !!!

M8... if the battery has been out of action for so long and also on the pda chances are that its totally out of juice and the pda does not recognise a battery there hence will not charge it this is quite common on some phones also.

Grab a power adapter with no more than about 800ma and apply some direct power to the battery for about 20 secs...put it back on the pda and see what happens.

If it's an Ipaq, can't you set it to charge via USB? I can on mine.....
Might get you enough juice to at least get it operational and fault find as above

hope you dont think of this as a cocky remark but is this not besides the fact that there is no power on the unit hence he will not be able to alter such settings?

not taken in the wrong way at all

The Ipaq will self-charge off USB (or mine does) - just put it into the cradle
