Default Burning DVDs from SKY+; advise please

I need to archive favourite recordings from an almost full SKY+ HDD. Do I only need to get a DVD recorder without HDD to achieve this? I would also like to be able to connect to a Video recorder to burn DVDs of videos too.

I know these are probably dumb questions for you techy experts- but I would really appreciate your response as I need to sort this soon before I have to start deleting stuff!

Please also feel free to recommend suitable machines.
