Bt Broadband
damm, after 1 year they have noticed that i go over my 2gb/month download limit
they have upgraded me to the 40gb/month package which includes this new fangled "home hub" thing by the looks of it.
is the home hub thing any better then a regular wireless router?

Yeah, they just noticed my limit breaking too. I'm already on the 40Gb package, so they charged me the excess at £1 per Gb....
...78 quids worth lol. I'm challenging it though, because they didn't tell me I was over-using first

I got my first warning in July for doing 77gb in one month (Limit of 50gb) and was told on the email that if I did it again the next month I would be charged £1 per gb that I go over...
One of the guys here did 110 ish gb and got stung with a bill for 60 odd quid!
I also think they should provide you with some kind of tool so that you can check how much you've downloaded each month!

you want to go with Zen then
there is a web portal which tells you your useage in a pie chartand they email you when you use 25%, 50%, 75% of your useage
also when you hit your limit they redirect to to a awebsite which allows you to buy more, however if you dont buy more....you cant use the net
a far better system though me thinks

Stingy gits, AOL platinum is under £30 a month and is completely uncapped and unrestricted and you don't need to use their software, it's shareable and you get free wireless equipment.
I've had no downtime in 12 years

So, I've now sent a letter of complaint to their Customer Services Director. If I get nowhere with that, then I'll go to Otelo (the Ombudsman). It's only 70 odd quid, I know - but it really pi55ed me off and they're in the wrong, so I'm gonna make it as difficult for them as possible lol. Oh yeah, I've cancelled the direct debit too, because 'I can't afford the bill'
