Have a machine that has been infected.

It is running AVG free scanner, Ewido and XP Firewall

Have been able to remove two Trojans one a dialer the other Generic2.

Have rescanned, but every time the machine is switched on it automatically connects to the internet, wit AVG stopping the 2 Klones

How do I get rid of them?
I have run vcleaner from the AVG site in safe mode but they still are there

Any help much appreciated

Silly answer but sometimes the most obvious is the correct one

Your problem is most likely that there is still a rogue .exe file on your HDD. Most virus scans won't pick these up, as exe is an executable file. HiJack this should help you find things you don't recognise.

Use a proper antivirus, (McAfee, Panda etc). If the problem is a rogue exe, then most decent checkers should pick this up.

AVG is a proper antivirus... If the .exe isn't infected but is a legitimate appearing programme that the trojan downloaded then HijackThis is the only reliable way to find it...

Just be careful when you go deleting things. Cos it really does delete them...

The number of AVG installed machines I've seen infected with viruses makes me think otherwise.

ist most probably in your system restore file or temp either

1, restore to a earlier point before the virus then do a scan with a antivirus and emty the temp files

2, delete the system restore point and delete the temp files then do a scan

3, format the hard disk lol

4, throw the computer out the window

Guys thanks for all the advice, have managed to clean the machine of viruses, malware, trojans, klone etc

Have to agree with what was said AVG did not detect the faults, cleared the restore, uninstalled AVG and downloaded the new McAfee cleaned most then had to sort out the Spyware crap

What a complete PITA, I'd like to get hold of these Wan kers

Have decided to go for the McAfee Internet Security Suite, have looked at the UK and US site, cost is about £50, however did a quick search on ebay and pick this up for about a fiver. Are these genuine at this price?
