Smile DVD / CD COPYING

It's a basic question but I can't seem to be able to copy CD / DVD on my new PC. (Hewlet Packard). If I insert a DVD it just wants to play it. My previous PC gave me a pop-up option box asking if i wanted to "play" "Copy"
"view files" etc. Can someone help please?

Default Copying CD / DVD's

I'm not exactly sure but I see there are "Real Player" and "QuickTime Player" icons on the desk top. I think my previous PC had windows software for copying CD's / DVD's.

Default Copy DVD / CD

I've just checked and I have Windows Media Player already installed . Is this what I need to copy DVD's. If so is it straightforward.
Thanks for your help.

Copying original DVD's is next to impossible without a program that can alter the digital copy protection.

DVD Decrypter, DVD santa, DVD Xcopy, are all programs that do this and are also free.
