Default laptop help...pleeeeease

My girlfriend has mysteriously broken the pin (i guess u call it) that the power adapter plugs into. I havn't had a chance to look at it yet but its sounds pretty f**ked. She rang medion...which i will be doing later also as they have said it will probably cost over £500 to fix...and its under warrenty

So I suppose my questions begin with, is this fixable with hopes and dreams...and a soldering iron perhaps?

Does anyone know if you can get an external battery charger or a docking station for a facking medion...told her not to buy it...never listens

I she broke it using it normally, i.e. just plugging the thing in, then could you not just claim faulty product and shout at them until they fix it under warranty?

What is the model of the Laptop?

I've seen this on some tosh's the weld on the pin has failed and was pushed inside as a result.

As long as it's not a case of the laptop fell off the table onto the floor whilst being plugged in (and thus broke the plug) you should get it done under warentee.
