Default WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER

I am having difficulty in playing any clips from the net via Windows Media Player. I can play music and video that I have stored on my own system but get the following message when trying to play something from the net.

Windows Media Player cannot connect to the server. The server name might not be correct, the server might not be available, or your proxy settings might not be correct.

I am completely stuck as to what it is so any ideas please shout up.

Thanks

I expect your firewall is refusing Windows media player access to the internet. Check your firewall settings.
