Copying Contacts from a Nokia to Motorola??
No exactly computing, but near enough to be related I hope.
Have just got a new Motorola SLVR phone and could do with getting all of my contacts into it from my old Nokia without retyping, anyone have any experience, advice or ideas??
I know I can copy from old phone to SIM to new phone, but
a) have more than SIM can take (>250) and it seems to copy them at random ie not A-Z
b) this method only takes some details and shortens names etc
c) seems to create duplicate entries where there is more than one number against a name
Both phones have Bluethooth, so not sure if there is some way here or even through backing up Nokia to PC then synching Motorola with it.
Any advice or experience much appreciated.
Cheers

Don't know of a direct transfer between the two, but your best bet might be to load your contacts into a third party program like Outlook, then export the contacts in a format that the Motorola understands. Most phones come with some form of PC based software to backup contacts, so it shouldn't be too hard.

Chris,
Thanks, that was what I was thinking, probably create a new profile in outlook export from Nokia then import into Motorola, thought it worth seeing if there were any other ways known.

Easy. Use the Nokia SW that comes with the phone and import all your contacts into Outlook. Use Outlook to *tidy* them up. Add stuff etc etc. Then use Outlook as your main contacts point!
Then use the Motorola SW (which presumably also syncs with Outlook) to copy them to the new phone. Easy peasy ...
