MySQL locally
I'd like to setup my forum locally for backup and test purposes.
Is it pretty easy to do?
So far I've istalled IIS and Mysql5 and setup, setup a couple of virtual folders, but when I gotothem it just displays the filelist, I'm missing somthing I suspect.
Help

To answer your question - yeah its pretty easy to setup.
You deployed MySQL before ? IN the past it was a bit of a pain but has come on a lot now.
Perhaps setup an ODBC connection first and try that out ?
Which scripting language are you using ?

My forum is PHP, so I want to be able to copy it local an run it up.I've installed PHP using the windows installer, but when I attempt to open the virtual folder, I get get a filelist. I'm guessing it not associating the php files.

Have you tested IIS and made sure thats working first ?
You should have a folder on c:\ called inetpub
Inside that is a folder called wwwroot
This folder is the default location for IIS to map to
You probably know all this already
Can you pull this page up in your browser ?
http://localhost/IISHelp/iis/misc/default.asp

Right,
I've sorted this now.
Installed IIS and checked default functionality using localhost
Installed PHP and then found a very useful 'post install' readme that advises the configuration of IIS apps and ISAPI filters etc and what you need to edit in php.ini (c:\windows), not in c:\php.ini. Something that was omitted from so many 'how to' documents.
Think I'm going to write my own readme and post it.
Cheers chaps for the help.
