Help deleting files
Hello
I installed Windows Vista on my data drive to see what it was like. I actually thought it was very good, but it became slow over time and unusable.
Anyway, the point being I want to get rid of it from my data drive and I can't touch anything in the windows and a few other directories. I get "Access Denied". I've tried booting in safe mode and to command line and still can't get rid of it!
Any suggestions? (before I find my Linux boot DVD and just do that .. )
Thanks,
Steve

Im assuming your not booted up in vista, and using another windows install?
If so Right click the folder, properties, security, advanced, owner. then select user, click the replace owner on subcontainers and click ok.
That 'should' do it.

Steve to get the security tab when right clicking on a file/folder and selecting properties go into windows explorer, tools menu, folder options, view menu and then scroll to the bottom and untick 'use simple file sharing'. You should now be able to see the security properties for any file or folder and follow what David has said.
