Are these huge 750Gig drives safe?
I shoot huge amounts of video and photos and my 2 main 400gig drives are running low in the 4 bay firewire enclosure. I had a look at Span.com's site (have bought most of my drives there) and they now have a 750gig Seagate drive for 250 + VAT - that's incredible. Are these reliable and suitable for long term storage?
Oh, do sata drives work ok in these firewire enclosures?
Cheers!

The drive is a 750GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 (£220). It max temp is 122c which is quite extreme so I wouldn't trust its reliability. Wouldn't put one in a computer.

The hot Seagate is second from bottom. Check out the performance charts for average read speed and average write speed on the high capacity drives at the top of the chart.
I would be going for a 400GB Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD4000KD (51c and £123inc) or maybe a 320GB Western Digital Caviar SE WD3200JD (46c and £77).
Both look superb all round. The 320GB drive is quite a bargain.
