Validation Failure
Can anybody tell me why i should have to purchase a licence so i can carry on updating my software, the opperating system came with the pc [new]windows xp pro], is this just another ms scam.

If you got it in an email then i would ignore it.
If it's popping up in windows then MS released an update which hunts out un-licenced copies of windows and shows you how to purchase a licence

Did you get the license key with the computer, a sticker with it printed on stuck on the case, or printed on the front of the manual, if not then the place where you got the pc from could of stitched you up.
