What is my local IP?
As the title people..
i keep getting a tcp failure, and it suggests that my router forwards to my local IP..
now i have set to my ip that the router gives me ... but then i have static ip's dns ips,dynamic ip's, ip ip i ay ips (ok i made the last one up)
can anyone help? why doues adding arouter make things to **** ip

Dynamic IP, is the same as DHCP is the same as the ip the router gives you !
Make sure you dont have a static ip address on anything, then on all of your comps, go
Start - Run - and type cmd and press enter.
Type ipconfig /flushdns press enter
type ipconfig /renew press enter
you should get issued a new ip address from the router, this could be anything really but usually of the range 192.168.0.* or 192.168.1.* the router will pretty much always have a static ip address set to 192.168.*.1 and this should be set as the default gateway on all the machines automatically.
Pretty much all you need to set on the router is your user name and password and any security on the wireless, everything else should be left alone unless you are certain you know what you are doing !

dynamic ip is the ip you are asigned on the particular session you are on unlles you ask your isp/pay for a static ip dhcp would usually be set by isp 0-999 192 .168.#.# is an internal /default ip usually used to bring up your login screen 217.#.#.#. etc are extnl ip,s hope this is not to confusing good luck steve.
