iTunes copying unchecked songs to iPod

iTunes copying unchecked songs to iPod
Hello
I updated the firmware on my 4G 40Gb iPod about 8 weeks ago to 2006-03-23. I am running iTunes 6.0.4.2 on Windows XP SP2.
When i synced the iPod for the first time it copied all the tracks in my library onto the iPod, even the ones that are unchecked.
Now I cant work out if theres an option i need to select to not copy the unchecked tracks. Anyone else seen this ?
