Wink Faulty memory stops boot up!!!

My PC sometimes wouldn't even get to POST or boot up at all, sometimes it would stop after the video card bios and other times it would hang in the PC bios or go all the way through to Windows XP and then suddenly reboot.

The first suspect was the power supply so changed it- no different.
Then checked all card & socketted chips pushed fully home - no different
Checked on board battery - over 3v
Ran all sort of diagnostics - nothing found

Problem got worse - thought it must be motherboard (it is 3 yrs old) but (almost) last resort was memory (was going to swop video card).

Took 1 stick out - no difference
Put other stick in and IT WORKED PERFECTLY!!!!!!!!

Thank bl**dy goodness!!
