Network problem
I have dicided to bin my wireless modem/router and go back to wired. I bought a new modem/router(D-Link504-T), disabled my wireless card plugged the new modem into the ethernet socket and phone line. Then attempted to get onto the modem using 192.168.1.1 etc...nothing. I thought the phone line maybe dodgy but the spare phone worked when I plugged that in so it's not the line.
I then ran a cable from the ethernet port/pc upstairs to the wireless router/modem that is down stairs and i still cannot connect. Could it be the ethernet port on my pc?

Probably got a bit confused from you're original post.
Can you not ping the routers IP address from you're PC?
