iPod Mini LCD Screen
Got one thats cracked - its fairly simple to replace myself, sod paying someone £70 quid to do it!
But are the Gen's compatible - does anyone know?
Eg could I pick up a cheap Gen 1 screen and use it in a Gen 2 Mini?

Hi there,
I was looking at ukipodrepairs and am guessing that is where you saw the replacement screen fitted for 70 quid. Not sure what places in the UK there are for this stuff but I got my hard drive replacement from ipoddepot.ca and they do offer replacement LCD screens.
The different models do have slightly different screens, so you will need one specific to your generation of iPod.
You might want to pop over to iLounge.com and search to see if there are instructions on replacing the screen to see how easy it is, and also for a list of uk suppliers.

Hi mate
yeah - I had a look on ilounge after posting here and it seems there is a small diff between the gen 1 and 2 connection that makes them incompatible! So I need to make sure which gen it is before I buy the correct replacement screen off ebay!
Gonna be a damn site cheaper to do it myself though and from reading the instructions its pretty straightforward
