Default Boot Problems

I have just built my new PC, every thing is fine except it will not boot without the windows Cdrom in the drive. I am trying to boot off the the SATA drive at the moment. Without the cdrom in place it says none system disk please insert disk and retry. Any one have any ideas , because I am out completly. If I set the boot settings to SATA it won`t even boot at all. So as a get around it`s set to boot off cdrom.

Regards

Jase

On your Hard Drive do you have the jumper setting set correctly?

Have you set you're BIOS up so that the SATA acts as the primary IDE Hard Disk controller? Without this you're boot order will not work.

Are you saying you've managed to install XP on it & now it won't boot?

If so, was it the only hard disk in the system when you installed XP on it?
