Default Star Trek Armada on Windows XP PC??

Ok a bit of a long shot here but I used to love playing Start Trek Armada on my old PC so I recently bought it again after losing my old copy a few years back and installed it on my current PC which uses Windows XP. Although the game runs the sound doesnt appear to work or is out os sync etc. I have run the computer simulating Windows 95 but it often crashes or freezes. Is there anything simple I can do to make this game work on a relatively new PC???

Please help!

Thanks

Mike

Patch can be had from here:

Have you not tried emulating it under windows 2000 ? Should be more stable.

What software are you using to sim Win95?

I've successfully used VMWare to get Baldurs Gate running, and Virtual PC works really well with a work setup I run for supporting older client stuff we rarely need to do.
