any ideas

have just rebuilt my pc backup, installed all the updates etc etc

office 2000 will not install, goes throught the process and it crashes with a ms error of some sort,

worked before and now it does not,

have microsoft done something to stop me using old office products on xp sp2

Did you install the office GDI update thingy? Is your copy of office and windows genuine

all products legit !!!!

can't do the office gdi thing as the main office product will not install

Try doing a manual install from the setup.exe icon instead of autobooting or using the MSI exec
