Default Xbox 360 Update...

Coming soon after the current xbox.live update, the following will be available ready for E3.

Can't make the trip to E3? Or worst, you live in LA and can't get in the show? We're committed to doing all we can to help you feel like you're there (without the sore feet, bad food, long lines, and crowded, noisy halls).

First off, everyone with an Xbox 360 will get Xbox Live Gold access, all week. Starting Monday , you'll also get lots of content on Xbox Live Marketplace, including the first-ever Gears of War high-definition game trailer, and the playable demo of Capcom's Lost Planet: Extreme Condition. Over 60 pieces of new downloadable content will be available including:

* Playable game demos and/or trailers from highly anticipated titles like:
-Crackdown (Microsoft Game Studios)
-Dead or Alive : Xtreme 2 (Tecmo)
-The Lord of the Rings, The Battle for Middle Earth II (EA Los Angeles)
-Lost Planet: Extreme Condition (Capcom)
-Moto GP '06 (THQ)
-Sonic the Hedgehog (Sega)
-Splinter Cell Double Agent (Ubisoft)
-Test Drive Unlimited (Atari)
-Viva Pinata (Microsoft Game Studios)
-Plus a flood of HD trailers from games that have yet to be announced
* Call of Duty2 - New Multiplayer Map Packs (Activision)
* The release of UNO on Xbox Live Arcade
* Game with Fame celebrity gaming sessions with stars like Jenny McCarthy, Method Man and Panic Channel (Featuring Dave Navarro, Stephen Perkins, Chris Chaney and Steve Isaacs).
* Play and Win contests with the latest Xbox 360 and Xbox Live Arcade titles
* Exclusive high-definition blockbuster movie trailer downloads
* Limited edition E3 Gamerpics and Themes
* A Backstage Pass to see developers preparing for E3

In addition to Verizon sponsoring the free week of Xbox Live Gold access, and sponsoring the Xbox.com E3 coverage for the week, they'll also be giving away a million Microsoft points.

thats a bit pants, no new features just new content, theyve been adding new content week by week anyway, i thought the maintenance downtime would bring some nice new features to live not just new content

The features / changes are to the xbox.com website, more features like sending messages from your pc to xbox360 gamers etc.

Now there's a game I've not played for almost 12mths...... I wasted many an hour on multiplayer when that got released.... Must dust down the Xbox this evening and give that a spin

Me and 2 or sometimes 3 mates play it on PS2 every Thursday (Mashed: Fully Loaded), almost without fail We're all pretty much the same 'skill' level on it now, so its mostly down to the fun glitches in the game and weapon skills.

Would be nice to be able to use the wireless controllers on the 360 Hope they decide to release a noew one soon ! Its the most basic of games, but we've found nothing to match it for fun.

A leaked video of new games had Major nelson say that it should hit marketplace in a couple of months.

The problems are reported to be lag over live and trying to get it sorted out.

The E3 flood has begun.

I hope they've increased the servers to cope with the demand

The servers were very slow over the weekend. Gave up on one download after a couple of hours.
