Jack - you're right, if used for dual boot OSX / WinXP it is good value.
Does look nice, and I'm not saying I wouldn't pay that much for it, just commenting Apple's pricing of it (and all their products - anyone else noticed how any cable is at least 20 quid from them?)

You'll be waiting for a fair while. I can't see Apple releasing OS X for non Apple hardware for at least another couple of years, and even then it'll probably be tied to a specific manufacturer, for example Dell. Presents a lot of issues support wise if you can put OS X on any old hardware.

Hopefully one of the chaps has one on order, so I might get to have a little play with it, but I'm happy with the 17" iMac so I don't *need* one, doesn't stop me *wanting* one though
Apple kit is always expensive, they know some people will just purchase the apple branded accessories rather than non branded stuff, maybe due to some naievety that they are better than non branded, which is not always true. Some of the Monster cables are better than Apple's own items for example.

Hmm, I bought an 'Apple' ADC to DVI adapter, got the Apple one for £30+ cos I just thought it might be better then the Belkin ones for £20, imagine my surprise when my £30+ Belkin adapter turned up in the post. Oh how I laughed.
