Lost domain name - Xreg warning
Has anyone ever had any success in getting back a lost domain name?
I used to use xreg.co.uk for registrations and they were generally pretty good, I could do most things I needed to at the time but now I use 123reg mainly because they also do mail forwarding...
Anyway, their service (xreg) seems to have deterioated and this domain expired but their system would not allow it to be renewed. It went into some sort of redemption grace period but has now become reavailable and grabbed by some automated tool.
Xreg.co.uk would never respond to contact requests or support tickets, you can never call these people and basically I could do nothing, I trie to move the domain away but I guess at this point it was too late as it would not allow it, it could not be unlocked so now I'm screwed.
Anyone ever had any experiences similar where you were able to get it back?
I am fearing the worst

Go straight to nominet. Cut out the dead wood and let nominet sort it out

One of my domains expired and the company that had registered it went bump. Went to nominet and they sorted it out, cost me £90 ish.

In some bizarre series of events, the domain that was registered to domibot.com on the 16th became available today and has been snapped up again by me. Phew!
