Default Mail forwarding with a difference??

Hi guys, our internet access at work blocks hotmail, so I was wondering if it is possible to get mail forwarded from hotmail to my work address, but also sending a copy to the hotmail address. That way, I will always get my messages - be it at home or work (I work shifts, and am away from work for up to 8 days at a time...). Its impossible to log into my work email from home.

Any ideas?

Cheers,

James

Not usre if this is any use. But a few of the free E-mail companies now offer E-mail to your Mobile phone via SMS. But I think they charge.

Yeah, I've looked into that. Only problem is that I think they charge you by the amount of data you recieve...I only get about 10 emails a day, but that still could get very expensive

Had a look at Yahoo. And one of the options is a POP Mail Forwarding option to a different E-mail Account.
Info:

POP Access and Forwarding
Use Yahoo! as your permanent email address. Forward to another mail account, or download your Yahoo! messages to your POP3 mail client.

Unfortunately when I click it I get page cannot be displayed. Doesn't Hotmail have something similar?

You can do it with Hotmail.

Just set up your Hotmail account access in Outlook Express, then you can set up a message rule to forward any mail received from that account to your other address.

I don't think that would apply for Jamesemt, as work environments tend to have a middle E-mail server such as Microsoft Exchange Server. Which will be goverend and run by an I.T department.

One option is to get a phone that can send/recieve e-mail. Blackberry as above is one, or a Orange SPV c600 which is great and isn't an oversized piece of c**p I should think more an more modern phones will do this.

Wouldn't that get the guy in trouble, by installing software on a works/company PC? Besides most companies lock down the PC by not alowing users Administration rights.

Thats exactly right, unfortunately...

Tried linking my hotmail address to Outlook at work, but it times out...

Are there any other free email services that wouldn't be blocked? Ebay is also blocked...

What I meant was, to setup Hotmail on the home PC via Outlook which then forwards to his work address. Thats what I do.

Tried this just now on my K700i on O2 and it works with hotmail.

Open up http://mobile.msn.com on any wap phone, select msn hotmail.

Then you have to select "other email address" because it doesn;t work when you select the "@hotmail.com" option for some bizarre reason.

enter your full hotmail address and password and voilla.
