Whats the best way to get my PS2 to display on my Dell 20" widescreen computer monitor ?

The Dell has DVI, D-SUB, S-VIDEO and Composite inputs.

The cheapest and possibly best method I would say S-Video.

For the most Expensive and possibly have the same sort of output as S-Video, then something on the line of DVI-SCART converter.

Personally,I wouldn't bother as the high res monitor will really highlight the low res output of the PS2.I assume when you say your 20in Dell widescreen you have a 2005FPW?
I've tried it on my 2005FPW and it wasn't impressive and personally,I'd stick to playing the PS2 on a TV.
The good thing about 2005 monitor is that you can have three display settings (1:1 , FILL or ASPECT)
If you chose 1:1 then your screen will display the PS2 image exactly as it's output from the PS2 (In other words,you'll get a small window in the centre of the display and the rest of the screen would be black - This highlights just how low res the PS2 output actually is!)
Now if you had an Xbox 360 with the VGA cable and that monitor,that's a different story altogether!!

yeah, the 2005fpw is 16:10 isn't it, so FILL would have to scale to the 16:9 display of the PS2

ok, I'll leave it for now and perhaps plug my PS3 into it come Christmas for some 720p action
