A digimate 8ms refresh 19" tft from www.aria.co.uk will do the trick, its as bright as my viewsonic at twice the price and is quick enough for games.

Oh and its only £140 inc vat in the specials section from the main menu. And it has a 3 year warranty.

I've had a £200 one for a year now and can't fault it.

Not a big games player but it works for me when I play.

Unless you are happy to pay top-dollar to get a genuinely good one, I would buy an old fashioned CRT - I bought my 17" monitor at a car-boot sale for £20, it's a year old and gives a good picture.

these new-fangled flat screen things take up a lot less space, but the cheap ones give an inferior picture - my £20 CRT gives as good a picture as a cheap flat-screen monitor.

as i posted the thread i'll add my bit!

i ended up with twin Samsung 930BFs at £250 ish each....19 inch, 4ms.....superb. Make my LG of £200 last year (so prob a £150 screen now) look very poor.

Stunning for games, great for video and great for work. i was worried about spending £500 on two "cheaper" ones instead of one great one.....but glad i did.

I've had 2 of the 19" Digimate. First was 199 from Amazon ages ago and a steal at the price, new one (folks now have old one) cost 120 odd quid from Aria. Can't fault either - very good, ace picture, and great for games too
