Default IPOD software hack/updates????

Could some tell me if the below is true?

Is there a hack/software/firmware update for 30gb ipod photo, to convert it to play video?

I've heard there might be, but cant find it?

Anyone heard of this or know where i can look? Yes i have done a lot of searches on google? but to avail!!!!!

doubtfull as it doesnt have the video chip in like the video ipod does

As far as I'm aware there isn't a way to play movies on iPods other than the 5G models that support video playback.

You could export frames from a movie and then import those as photos and then flick through them using the click wheel, but it's not an automated process as the slideshow feature of the iPod has a minimum 2 second delay in slideshow mode, plus of course there would be no audio.

It's possible it might support animated GIF/JPEG/PNG files, in which case you could possibly create a movie in that way, but I don't think that would be feasible, even if it were possible.

You could always try and install linux on it.

Done it!!!! Now watching videos through my 30gb photot 4G ipod
