I've got one.
Writes ok, (just like a normal writer), but when it's finished you can flip the disc over and use the laser to write a label. A couple of things to bear in mind...
Writescribe discs are more expensive than normal blank dvds
The printed label is quite a subtle effect, (i.e. it doesn;t stand out like a printed disc).
I hardly ever use mine. I tend to use printable discs, and stick them in the printer instead...

But aren't printed labels a bit of a no-non ? Don't they cause a weight imbalance which you can hear when the disc is spinning ?
I've picked one up today (LITEON) so will give it a 'whirl' so to speak ;-)

I didn't say I used labels.
I print directly onto the surface of the disc itself. You can stick the cd into my inkjet printer, and (when using a special printable disc) can just print in the same way as you would printing onto paper

early days is lightscribe, so only good if you are a mad "early adopter"..
the scribing is only in gold/brown color and very subtle, as mentioned, so poinless if you want vibrant colour labels.
better to stick to the print on disc versions if your printer can manage it.
