Default Can i disable the mouse pad on laptop

Im using my laptop with a wireless mouse and want to know if i can disable the mouse pad below the keyboard and if so how. I sometimes catch it when typing and it causes the cursor to move and start typing somewhere else and sometimes i delete stuff.

Alternatively you can normally disable it in the BIOS at system startup....
