Default Blue screen of death

Any one any idea's what could be causing this. It came up with a message about the VGA. I know this is the video graphics is this the graphics card. If so back to overclockers. It's all new bits. DFi expert mobo. Mushkin 2 gig mem. 146 opty. 7800 GT 512mb goes like hell gainward card. Audigy 2 sound card and wireless broadband. Hoping to get in vapor chill all been well. If i can stop it crashing. Oh one other thing when i booted the other morning there was no mouse pointer just loads of artifaxin on the screen moving as if it was the mouse thats the other reason i'm thinking graphic's card..... DOIN MY NUT IN HELP SOME ONE!!!!!!!!!

Reinstall the vid card drivers from nvidia first, see if that cures it.

Check you have all latest drivers/service packs/hotfixes etc. If you do and it still does it, try and swap the graphics card for another one and see if you get the same problem. If not, the card may be up the swanny, if so it's more likely to be the mobo.

To quote from the old MS NT4.0 Administrators Guide "This could be caused by either hardware, or software".

Tried that one m8. Even done a re install still the same. Tried with the latest drivers and previous ones...

I even went out and brought a new mobo as it has been on vaporchill but the new board ain't till i know it's stable stock speeds...

We've recently had BSOD on all the 8 new sony vaio laptops in work, downgraded the Audigy 2 sound card drivers to an earlier version, BSOD gone.

BSODs tend to mean RAM errors, especially on DFI boards - they are VERY picky about RAM settings. As a quick test, drop the RAM:CPU ratio to 180% (if it already is, try lower still). If this fixes it then your RAM setting need some tweaking. Or you can leave it there because with A64 RAM speed isn't important anyway.

Alternatively, tweak the RAM voltage up a notch or two.
