Re sleep mode
I have windows xp pro and a microsoft keyboard but when i go to put the computer in to sleep mode via the keyboard it seems to lock with the screen black... It seems like it wont wake up if that makes sence!!! thanks for any help in advace..

Sleep mode sounds like hibernation mode. Have you tried pressing the power button on your PC? You'll know if it's hibernation mode, when the PC starts up and brings your PC back up to how it was before.
