It doesn't allow unsigned code to run, so it's only application is piracy so I agree with you. I'm sure someone will recreate it though

They created a hack There will always be people out there who want to get around restrictions, be it legal or not. Clever people come up with new methods of stopping this and just as clever people come up with ways of getting around it. And so it goes on ....

Agreed, it goes around the same way in most things we do.

They broke a restriction using a method - call it a hack if you like. A bit like using a brick to break down a locked door. They didn't create the brick or the door, they just threw something in the right direction.
