Question Moving from broadband email to hosted email...questions

I'm currently with Blueyonder, although I'm sure to move house shortly and guess what, no Blueyonder broadband there

I've been thinking of sometime of moving my email access to a hosted solution hosted under my limited companies name

Can anyone provide any help as to to the places to look

I will no doubt change to another mainstream broadband provider via the BT telephone system (i.e. Wanadoo, etc), but I'm fed up of having to change my email addresses all over the place, so this time, I want it to be a permanent one

I'm not bothered about web space, just email routing (multiple email addresses preferable)

Cheers
Simon

buy a .co.uk domain from 123reg.co.uk for about £6.10 for two years and they will let you set up a number of email address forwarders... You can forward these to a POP3 mail box (costs extra) or a hotmail account or similar.
There are plenty of other domain name providers who will also sell you a POP3 mail box, I just like 123reg because their control panel allows me to do everything I need... just have to hunt around. Just try and find someone who doesn't charge moving away fees and doesn't charge more than £30 a year for both the POP3 box and domain. Maybe look for someone who look virus scanning and/or spam filtering as well.

Lots of people recommend http://titanhosts.com/ on here.

I take it using a Yahoo and/or Hotmail accounts would be out of the question? Comes in very handy if you need to access your e-mail via an internet Cafe.

Thanks for the replies guys. Yes using a webmail only service is out of the question, as I tend to get quite alot of mail, and have always historically used Outlook and the ISP mail pop3/smtp account

I'm really just after a simple redirect service that will enable me to have a persistent email domain/address and be able to forward it on to whomever I choose as my next ISP

Seems like the 123reg option may be the way to go

Any other recommendations ? Anyone ?

If I was in your position I'd use Gmail. You can pick up and send your mail in Outlook in the same manner, the spam/virus detection is good and you have a 2 gig file store per account... all for free!!

Thanks Jack, I have looked at GMail, but there doesn't seem to be any method for registering, I think you need to be recommended by someone that already has an account (chicken and egg?)

I've got stacks of gmail invites if you'd like one - just PM me your current e-mail address and I will send one.

Hello

Most companies that register domains will offer email accounts. I use http://www.wiredhosting.com and have done for 5 years or so and they offer 75email address per .com domain.
