Source code control software
Folks,
As per title - anyone use an SCCS product which they'd care to recommend?
Previously used SCCS on unix platform, worked perfectly. But since we've moved away from unix based development to a windows enviornment that's history.
Briefly looked at visual source safe, but seems a bit how shall I say - rubbish?
Any ideas greatly appreciated.
Shaun

I used to work for the company that wrote PVCS. I don't use it any more
We are currently using Subversion for our source control having recently switched from CVS. We are running some of our main projects through it, (team of about 7 developers in the uk and usa, and a few thousand source files) and are really impressed with the speed and usability. It's open source (i.e. free), flexible, extremely reliable, and works well on Unix and Windows (I think there's a Mac client as well).

I heartly recommend Vault from Source Gear, I've used it on a few projects. http://www.sourcegear.com/
It's written in .Net runs on SQL server, has internet connectivity built in and it's fairly cheap.
I'd tend to stay away from source safe I've had some bad experiences with it.
