Default testing MySQL backups

I would like to test my forum backups, could anyone recommend what I can install on my PC to do this.

I tried installing Apache 1.3.34, PHP 5.12 and Mysql 3.23, but to no avail.

Any ideas?

just make a copy of your forums on your server & upload the MySQL as a second database and see if it works. I always keep a Mysql database and a forum files copy on my server and aswell as backing up, I always test the database on my server first

hope that makes sense, if not, blame Stella

Cheers Phil,

As my server is out of commission at the mo, I wanted to try and do it on XP. Do I need anything special on my server to make it work apart from mysql and some admin software?

Cheers

Mark
