But, the fact remains that EVERY SONY item I have is better than any other equivalent item that tries to do the same job ..... I hate it, but it's true!!

Sony are, without doubt, worth the premium they demand .....

little is really known about the PS3 yet, I dont think that they have actually shown any 'real' gameplay footage either (but I could be wrong on this).

At the end of the day, its not the graphics that make the game, its the gameplay, which is why our 360 gets as much use our Xbox/Gamecube. The 'wow' graphics factor soons recededs.

The Blu_ray / HDDVD format battle will continue for a good while yet, with big names jumping onto both wagons. The **** industries choice may help, but it wont be the end of it.

just buy the 360 cracking console and when the ps3 comes out if you still feel the same way buy it i have compared identical games from the 360 (high res)to original xbox and the difference is like comparing a snes to an xbox, its that huge its put me off playing the xbox. i have also put some PS2 games on and they are even worse than the xbox !!! why wait approx 1 year for gaming quality you have now unless you have a pc witha good GPU

CONTINUE!!! when did it start how many dvds do you have with these formats and can your tv cope plus apart from these gaming systems you need a good wedge just to buy a compatible dvd player making these look a bargain

Lets hope they dont have the same drive issues as with the ps2 where everyone was returning faulty dvd drives.

PS2 is no better than xbox (they hit the market first thats all), sony dvds, home cinema are miles behind everybody else, sony lcds are ****e at best, you should really try some other brands

PS3 for me Well it's got the Final Fantasy series on it (and I don't mean the crappy online one ported from the PC ).

XBox Live has always been far better than Sony's offering, but I'm anti social and got bored of playing online and being 'nagged' by people to come and play 'this' game when I was happily playing single player on what I wanted to play

It's a question of choice....I could get both. I've got a PS2, GC and XBox already, and I play on the PS2 more than any of the others. Seems to have more games with better gameplay but that doesn't count for much these days if the game looks better

Sony have been playing catch up with the rest of the electronics industry for a fair number of years now in the consumer sector. The PlayStation is perhaps the only thing they sell by the bucket loads! Have you read the financial report on Sony..... take that from a company that is in your eyes, head and shoulders above everyone else.

Not only have Sony fell behind in LCD market, but also the Plasma market and Home AV market (other items). Sony got whupped by Apple with the Ipod.... shall I go on?!? Sony used to be THE name to have for consumer electronics (I admit this as I used to be an avid supporter)..... I am afraid that couldnt be further from the truth nowadays though.

I take it you dont know anything about AV equipment either then!

Sony are ****e, for TV's it used to be that Toshiba were the ones to have, now with the Plasma's and LCD's it's LG.

Sony have tried to create their own little monopoly with the inter-linking memory stick-Viao crap, and it's just put people off.

Microsoft are like the Mafia of the computing world, if someone won't make games for them, they'll just buy the company. As the 360 is the first Next Gen machine it's gonna have the 1st year **** out of the way and the great games should start coming through, Sony have to get their console on shelves first and then get the games up to scratch, and plesase don't tell me that Sony are going to supply the demand like the 360 failed, cause they sure didn't fecking manage it with the last two!!!!

personally, i would touch sony av gear. the equivalents from other jap manufacturers such as pioneer, denon, yamaha are sooooo much better.
the psp tho, god thats good....
back to the original question, im the same, umming and arring over an xbox360. but as with the original xbox and ps2, i'll probably end up getting both

Sony are complacent IMHO where as MS made a quality product in the Xbox (best device I've ever bought BTW) and have listened to what is needed due to wanting to catch Sony up. they looked at the modding scene and used it as inspiration

Wasn't a B&O shop that I was in but they had one of their sets next to a Sony model and the salesman told me they were gonna have to seperate them becuase everyone was buying the Sony becasue the picture was better...

Sony may not be top of the TV tree anymore but there still damn fine and at least they make an effort on the design.

I nearly bought a 360 on Saturday as they are in stock everywhere now, but I resisted - games are coming out now, but there was nothing I fancied.

I will wait for the PS3 then decide which one to go for - I dont want both consoles this time, its a waste of money.
