Recently, finally managed to get my pc to do the standby/sleep thing, it works ok apaprt from the fact the sound is all crackly afterwards, reboot ok but after the first standby period its **** again.

Tried replacing the sound drivers with the latest from Creative.

PC is an Athlon 1700+, Epox 8KHA mobo, 512 ddr, Creative Live! sound and a Gefore Ti300.

Yes I know its ancient, four years and never switched off, ideal for SN, **** and er well thats it.

Try swapping the sound card around the PCI slots. This was a well known issue with the older cards on certain mobos.
