PXE and TFTBoot - help required please
Got a Windows 2003 server running as a dhcp server with Ghost Server 8.0 on it. Its a stand alone server to basically just plug in at our DR site to ghost desktop pcs to a standard build.
Now the bit i'm stuck with and never tried before, need to setup pxe and tftboot on it so it will multicast to pxe boot enabled desktop pc's.
Any links out there to a step by step guide on how to do this?
My colleague who looks after this normally and set the orginal server up is off sick currently and I want to get this sorted before he comes back to work, oh and I don't have the original server to hand to look at it and compare.
TIA

Thanks jpor.
David why does the scope have to be specific? This maybe whats wrong on the other server build that I am trying to replace with this new build? I just did a basic scope
The images etc are all done from way before I joined etc.
The issue has been the build on the original server only ghosts about 8 client machines successfully (however it works on our own network, not just on our DR sites network). If you try and do more it bombs out and no one knows why. The build we have been using isn't our own but works perfectly and we can't work out whats different but I am guessing it will be to do with the pxe and tftboot setup. We can not carry on using our DR sites ghost server build so I thought i'd build a new one from scratch to eliminate any build issues with our original build which I had nothing to do with.

from ghost site..
coming to think about it I think it was TFTP we ammended the scope for.

A DHCP server must be installed somewhere on the network in order to use the PXE protocol. If you use a DHCP Server, then you must also use the PXE Service (instead of the BOOTP service). The PXE service can be installed on the DHCP server computer or different computer:
If installed on the DHCP Server, then during the installation of the PXE Service, you must use the option that adds the "Option 60 PXEClient Tag String" to DHCP packets.
If installed on a different computer, then must enable the ProxyDHCP function in the PXE Server software. A prompt to enable this appears the first time you use PXE.

Thanks David. Yes the original ghost server has all that done to it and like I say it works perfectly in our test lab. Its only at the DR site it doesn't work so that makes me think thats down to a network configuration at the DR site.
I have never installed pxe before so thats really what I was asking in this thread. Didn't have any work colleagues available who set up the original one to ask today. I have the 2003 server built running dhcp and the ghost server exe put on it. I just needed to know what to do to install pxe and set it up as I have never seen it before in terms of installation and configuration.

Oh and its multicast we use. Thanks for that link, will have a thorough read and get hold of the 3com boot services. In fact having a quick browse that link is perfect, just what I was looking for

as above..
try unicast and see if that works, if it does it points to the network configuration.
I seem to remember we did something with storm control and igmp snooping on the cisco switches.
