Default Xbox: Amiga and ST

Hello

I just downloaded a DVD for my Xbox full of old Atari ST and Amiga games and all those demo's I used to be impressed with when I was 16! About 8000 of them I think!

Just played Speedball and Lemmings!

I still use my ST. If you want a pc ST emulator check out "Steam", runs practically everything I've thrown at it. I still play Arkenoid, Rick Dangerous, Magic Pockets etc. They don't make games like those any more

I wouldn' t bother with the ST demos and games TBH, everyone knows the Amiga was a far superior machine.

I had both, (actually I had several of both over the years), and can quite honestly say the games were just as good on the St as the Amiga. Some were better on one, and some were better on the other.

I've tried the emulators for both on the the pc, and have found the ST emulators to be far more stable and reliable...

I bought AmigaForever - it's he ONLY way to get legal Kickstart roms. It's also a very good pice of software.

You can update WinUAE seperatly too.

For legal, free games try http://www.back2roots.org

Did you get it to work then? I tried it on 2 different pcs (my desktop and laptop) and on both of them it kept crashing the computer with memory access errors. That was a few months ago though so perhaps it's improved since then?

Yep. it's on my laptop, Desktop and the gf's desktop

Even on the gf's Athlon 950 machine it works fine.

On my Athlon64 it's great and the Laptop is a Athlon 2400 - also fine.

All machines have about 512mb (though it worked with 256 in laptop for a while)
