How to setup/install adsl router modem? help
Parents went wireless so they've given me their old router.
It's a BT Voyager 205 ADSL router.
Can't see how to get it to work on my PC. broadbandISP here is tiscali. The modem has a usb cable connected to PC but can't 'self install' and obviously can't connect to the internet.
How do I set it up????

Well normally you would have a router plugged into your netork port on your PC.
Then depending how the router is setup you will either need to give your PC a fixed IP address, which is in the same IP range as the router or if the router has DHCP (and is set to run it) set your PC to "obtain an IP automatically", the router would then give your PC an IP address within the correct/same IP range.
This should then get your PC communicating with the router. Then you will need to logon to the router and put in your Tiscali ADSL login details, user name/password etc.

Yep, get a RJ45 network cable (should come with one) and connect it that way. you will need the BT disc to install it by USB and this method isent recommended.
Open internet explorer and type 192.168.1.1 you should see the router configuration screen and try and set up from there.
