Its really so i can use my LCD monitor to play the ps2 on

You want something like this. I'm not particularly recomending this one, there are plenty around, it was just the first example I found.

I've done it twice now for my sons bedrooms, tv card (PCI or USB) then just feed it in like you do on the telly. No2 has a gdm fw900 monitor, so PS2 (& xBox) are pretty good on 24" widescreen 1600 X 1200 at 85Hz
