Another broadband question
I've finally decided to upgrade to broadband!
There are so many companys to choose from? I have a choice, i have short list now.
Wanadoo
bt
tiscali
Can any one recomend the best provider?
Tiscali offer the best deal, but I've heard so many bad stories about them. Its put me off a bit!
I've tried the search option on here, because im sure this question has been asked before. It is not working or my dial is too slow!
cheers Adam

I can only comment on my own provider - BT.
They have been superb! Absolutely no complaints to make. I have had it now for 18 months and during that time I think it was down for about 6 hours!!
Good customer service and loads of features. And their built in spam software is just awesome! Stops all the crap at their server, saving you the hassle.
Only thing I would advise is that whoever you go with, you throw the modem in the bin and buy a modem/router with built in firewall. They can be had for £40 or so. IMHO they are essential for permantly on connections. Also will allow you the option of sharing your connection with other PC's or consoles in your home.

Just read Bravo's comments on plus.net first

If you go down the ADSL route (i.e. via your telephone line), just remember that you will almost certainly be using BT equipment. So it is customer service and price rather than any huge difference in performance that will be the deciding factor. If you've got the choice of cable, then Telewest have a decent reputation.

Have a look at http://www.adslguide.org.uk/ first.
IMHO best to research some first, and have a look at other users comments on the ISPs they are with.
