Plusnet - what a bunch of useless idiots
Finally after several months of investigation my ADSL line issue has been fixed, it turned out it was the card in the exchange causing the frequent line drops even though BT refused to change the card until the very last resort - even though several engineers who visited my property over the course of the fault said the card needed replacing The time taken was certainly not helped by the idiotic responses I got from Plusnet technical support which just added to the time it took BT to fix the issue.
During this time I had my line downgraded from 2mb to 1mb and I proved to Plusnet this had no bearing on the fault whatsoever as the line continued to drop the same as it was when on 2mb, 1mb before that and 512kb before that I made it VERY clear to them a downgrade in speed would not fix the issue as I had experienced the line drops on all previous sppeds prior to being on 2mb. Now its fixed they want to charge me to put it back to 2mb! They can **** right off
They responded to my request to put it back to 2mb saying the fault would likely return as it was probably the line speed was the issue for the fault!!! WHY DON'T YOU STUPID IDIOTS READ THE CALL HISTORY INSTEAD OF SAYING PROBABLY AND LIKLEY What sort of technical support is that when they can't even read?
They are the most useless bunch of to$$ers I have ever come across
I have replied to them accordingly saying they either put it back to 2mb free of charge or I cancel my contract and go else where. I know this is going to be refused on both counts so preparing for a long letter to Plusnet senior management.
I most certainly will never recomend to anyone to use Plusnet as their ADSL provider.

Zen.co.uk offers a first class service
Sorry to hear about your trials and tribulations but mmmm well it sounds all rather familar TBH hence the reason I cut them loose around a year ago.
For those in the know Zen.co.uk offers a first class service but you do pay a bit more for a rock solid connection and no ISP BS !

Just to balance things up, never had a problem with Plusnet at all.
Any contact with the Tech. Support has been very good.
I don't think BT and Plusnet have a great relationship though - Can't say I blame them

I agree with both points of view on their support. Sometimes the simplest task can seem like rocket science to them, and then what you think would take ages to sort, gets resolved in a couple of days. It really does depend on who deals with your ticket(s), as with any support/datacentre support team.

What a surprise! They have refused to upgrade me to 2mb as my loop loss is 43 db even though my Noise Margin is 24db According to them although 43db is the upper limit figure for 2mb because I am on this limit they say the 2mb service would be too unreliable and I can't have it
This is b0ll0x as they gave me 2mb when my loop loss was 56db when I was a new customer. The disconnection problems I had turned out to be the card in the exchange and nothing else. They are absolute t0ssers. Not giving up and will keep reopening the ticket until they either give me 2mb or cancel my contract

Looks like their forums are the way to go, never been on them before! Complained on there, 5 minutes after my post a Plusnet forum administrator confirms they have requested to BT to put me back to 2mb Why they just couldn't do that when I asked originally I don't know. There are certainly a hell of a lot of unhappy customers on their forums though
