Problems with BT boadband
Hi
Have been trying to help a friend with her computer problems. The main problem is she can't currently receive or send emails. Using outlook when i test the account settings it falls over on the log onto incoming mail server part. The email address is correct and the one i set it up with on BT yahoo broadband. The server settings i checked with the help pages so i can only assume it's the password. To change the password it asks you 2 security questions - dob and favourite colour, neither of which would have changed from when i set it up but it says they are wrong or words to that effect. The only other fix was to call their helpline which was in India and i couldn't understand half of what he said apart from re-install BT broadband(which i had done).
Also i can only go online by using IE direct. If i go in using BT yahoo browser it asks me to sign in using the BT email address and password and then another screen comes up asking for the yahoo id and password (is it the same as the BT one?)
So many questions - has anyone else come across this before?
