Forwarding a website forum
Hi, could someone inform me of the correct context I need to add in my domain settings.
I want to forward my old forum.domain.net to www.domain.net/forum
I can't seem to get it to work with the A and CNAME records used.
Thanks,
Mark

set up a subdomain called forum and make it a CNAME to www.domain.net.
The '.' on the end of www.domain.net. is important!
You then need to setup the webserver so it has a 'web site' that responds to forum.domain.net and set it's home directory to be the folder called 'forum'.
You can not simply forward web requests by using DNS alone.
Some domain name registration companies will offer you a control panel that allows you to configure this sort of thing but you are asking about DNS settings so thats your answer!
