Question Microsoft office 2003 is it me or is it cr@p???

The company I work for has recently changed to office 2003 from office 2000. There seems to be a number of issues with this new version, Photo editor has been replaced with some pile of junk called picture manager which has also seemed to have disabled the thumbnail function in windows explororer
Also there just seems to be a general lack of performance and the ocasional total failure to open some documents.
So, is it just me or have other people found this too?

has good features (apparently) but yeah also lots of bad ones, it uses alot of resources. Its just like acrobat 7 - not good at all, best to stick with v5

Yep agree with that IM, I put A7 on and it has just too much crap you dont need so went back to 5. I think most popular software just gets bogged down with features that these companies 'think' people want and add stuff to justify selling a new version, sure that makes good commercial sense, doesnt mean you have to buy it although too many companies get locked into this 'O new version out I *must* get that'

I had a lot of problems with Office 2003 at first - mainly the first update caused everything to freeze but managed to get it right on the third attempt. Only got it because it was so damn cheap. You can still download Picture Manager's predecessor from the Microsoft site.

We had an issue with copying images into Word. Basically, you copy in the images and it disappears. The border is still there but the image cannot be displayed. It turned out to be in incompatibility between the Intel Graphics card and Office 2003. A little update it is fine now.
