In what way do you mean "won't work"?
What version of the Mac OS are you running? What version of Safari are you running?
I'm using Mac OS X 10.4.3 and Safari 2.0.2 (416.13) and I can view SN and Autotrader with no problems at all.

OK, first thing I would do is clear the cache and history in safari, then quit and relaucnh safari and see if you can access SN and Autotrader.
If that fails, quit safari, then go into Applications, then Utilities, then run Disk Utility. Select the hard drive and click "repair permissions". Let it run through, then reboot the machine, then try running Safari again.

clear this, clear that, set this, set that, reboot etc.
I've just tried my 10.3.9 machine running Safari 1.3.1 (v312.3.1) and I can get to SN and Autotrader with no issues.
Try trashing any cookies you have for SN and Autotrader sites. To do this, go into Safari's preferences, select "Security" then "Show Cookies" look in the website column for any cookies that have scoobynet or autotrader in their names, and select them and click "remove".
Then quit and relaunch Safari and see if that makes any difference.

Well, sounds like something is corrupted. If you run SoftwareUpdate does it list any updates? especially anything for safari or the OS, if so, then download the updates and see if it makes a difference.
Some other things to try:
Go into Home -> Library -> Caches -> Metadata and remove/rename the Safari folder
Go into Home -> Library and remove/rename the Safari folder (this might kill bookmarks so you might want to rename it so you can go back to it)
Go into Go into Home -> Library -> Preferences and rename/remove the com.apple.safari.plist file.
Then relaunch safari and see if it makes any difference.

Hi,
Never come across this before but try MacOSXHints.com, I did a search there and there does seem to be some promising leads so have a look at the following URL
http://www.macosxhints.com/search.ph...ch&keyType=all
hope it helps.

Have a look on the CD's that came with the machine, see if there is an "optional installs" item, if so, run it and see what is in there. If it lists applications, see if Safari is one of them. If it is, then delete safari from your Applications folder, and use the optional installer to reinstall it. It's possible the safari app itself is corrupted.
Once you have installed it, run software update and get any updates for safari.

Just had a quick search and found a few urls you might want to look at:
